Three people were killed and a fourth was taken to a local hospital Friday morning after a traffic collision on Harvard Avenue near University Drive in Irvine. The Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at that location at 1:46 a.m.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered three people deceased inside the vehicle. A fourth person inside the vehicle was transported to a local hospital.
There have been no arrests made or citations issued in this case. The identities of the victims are being withheld until notifications are made to next of kin.
Road closures as a result of the collision include northbound and southbound lanes of Harvard between Michelson and University Drive. The road closures are expected to be in place until noon. Employees of businesses in the area are being allowed to access their workplaces.
