A 52-year-old male pedestrian has died from his injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
This evening at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to a reported traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a dark colored Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The collision occurred near the intersection of Silkberry and Hazelnut.
The victim was transported to Mission Hospital and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The decedent’s identity is not being released at this time.
The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision.
