The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and is seeking the public’s help in locating a mother and daughter who are still missing.
On Dec. 4, 2019, IPD released information related to this case seeking the public’s help in locating Amber Aiaz (AKA) Mei Yi Wu and Melissa Fu. Since that release, IPD Detectives have developed reason to believe the two were possibly kidnapped.
Amber Aiaz, 35, and her daughter, Melissa Fu, 13, were last seen on Nov. 22, 2019 at approximately 6:00 p.m. at their residence located in the area of Michelson and University in the City of Irvine. According to Amber’s husband, two subjects knocked on the door to their apartment. When he opened the door, he saw a male and female of Chinese descent standing at the door and he was immediately rendered unconscious by an unknown substance. When he awoke, Amber and Melissa were missing. The male and female were not known to him and it is possible they were seen by others in the complex. They were described as:
Female Chinese in her 40’s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with an average build, and black hair in a bun
Male Chinese in his 40’s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds with an average build and short black hair
They may have been associated with a black Cadillac, unknown model
Amber Aiaz is 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds, with medium length black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black vest, fitted black pants with white writing, and light colored shoes.
Melissa Fu is 5 feet 11 inches tall, 200 pounds, with medium length dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tracksuit.
The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Amber and Melissa. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Angeles FBI Field Office at 310-477-6565.
