The City of Irvine is seeking feedback to assist in planning the Oak Creek Community Park Project. The City has launched two online surveys, to gather input on potential community park and dog park amenities.
The community park improvements are being planned in tandem with a project at the shared site of Central Bark, City Operations Support Facility, and the Irvine Animal Care Center. The facility improvement project will include an expansion of the City’s Operations Support Facility, and the Animal Care Center will add a new clinic, increased parking, training areas, administration spaces, and adoption spaces, as well as rehabilitation of all animal-related areas. Moving Central Bark to a new location allows for the facility project expansion while providing an opportunity for upgrades and improvements for dog park visitors. Construction will be coordinated to allow for the current dog park to remain open until the new dog park is complete.
There are two surveys, available through January 31: a community park survey, and a survey focused on dog park amenities. Surveys are available at cityofirvine.org/oakcreekproject. Input provided through these surveys will be presented in virtual public meetings held in February and will inform the design of a plan for improving Oak Creek Community Park.
Oak Creek Community Park is located at 15616 Valley Oak Drive. For more information, visit cityofirvine.org/oakcreekproject. For questions, contact City of Irvine Senior Planner Kathleen Haton at 949-724-6667.
