The State of California COVID-19 Rent Relief program is no longer accepting new applications.
Tenants that applied to the State of California COVID-19 Rent Relief program prior to March 31, 2022, and whose applications are still pending have been provided with eviction protections through June 30, 2022. For more information, visit HousingIsKey.com.

If You Did Not Apply to the State of California Program But Are Still Facing Eviction:
If you did not apply to the State of California COVID-19 Rent Relief Program and you have received an eviction notice from your landlord, there may be other programs that can provide COVID-related rental assistance. For information and referrals, contact 2-1-1 Orange County by dialing 2-1-1.
Past Emergency Rental Assistance Programs
- In 2020, the City of Irvine provided $2.047 million in grants of $1,000 to 2,047 Irvine households. Funding for the program was provided through the federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES).
- In 2021, the City of Irvine operated a local Emergency Rental Assistance Program, in partnership with Orange County United Way. The program distributed approximately $15.5 million in state and federal rental assistance funds to 1,413 Irvine households.
- During the summer of 2021, the City of Irvine joined the State of California COVID-19 Rent Relief Program. So far, the State of California program provided $31 million in rental and utility assistance to over 2,500 Irvine households.
