The City of Irvine in partnership with MemorialCare administered 600 COVID-19 vaccinations at the City’s Lakeview Senior Center through two vaccination clinics held Friday, April 23.
As of April 15, all California residents 16+ are eligible to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. To ensure Irvine residents have convenient and quick access to COVID-19 vaccines, the City continues to work, with MemorialCare and other health care providers to meet the needs of the community. Friday’s vaccination clinics bring the City’s total COVID-19 vaccines administered to 1,780 through collaborations from Mayor Farrah N. Khan’s COVID-19 Task Force.
“Since our partnership with MemorialCare began in February, we have provided 1,300 COVID-19 vaccinations to our highest risk residents,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “I’m extremely grateful for this alliance and will continue to work with all of my COVID-19 Task Force partners until every Irvine resident who chooses is vaccinated and safe from this life-threatening virus.”
“MemorialCare has been honored to be able to partner with the City of Irvine to administer COVID-19 vaccines to the City’s most vulnerable population over the past two months,” said Dr. Mark Schafer CEO of MemorialCare Medical Group & Greater Newport Physicians. “We are proud to be able to continue our vaccination efforts by administering another 600 vaccines bringing our total to above 1,300 vaccinations given in conjunction with the City of Irvine.”
The City of Irvine is committed to providing access to COVID-19 vaccinations to all Irvine residents. Through a partnership with Providence Health System, the City will launch a mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Orange County Great Park Monday, April 26.
