Irvine Police Department to Host Three National Night Out Locations

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is joining the celebration for National Night Out. This annual tradition celebrated across the country will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event offers a chance for neighbors to interact with each other and police personnel, as well as explore police vehicles and learn important crime prevention tips.

Residents can choose from an array of activities at three locations, including learning about the IPD drone team and equipment, Remove It or Lose It, Neighborhood Watch and registering your bike with Project 529. Attendees who bring a canned food item to benefit Families Forward will receive an opportunity to win a prize. View the map of National Night Out locations, or read more below.

  • Woodbury Community Park (130 Sanctuary on the backside of the park next to Woodbury Elementary School): Face painting, police motorcycles, a SWAT vehicle, and a D.A.R.E. officer are all part of the fun. Guests can purchase dinner from the TK Burger food truck or dessert from Kona Ice.
  • Turtle Rock Community Park (1 Sunnyhill): Attendees can hop inside a patrol vehicle or a fire engine and visit with a police K-9. Guests can purchase dinner from the Empanada Maker food truck or enjoy a refreshing treat from Kona Ice.
  • Mike Ward Community Park (20 Lake Rd.): Our Mounted Unit, always a crowd favorite, will be on hand. Police vehicles and a fire engine will be on display. There will be crafts to entertain the kids. Guests can purchase dinner from the TK Burger food truck and dessert from Kona Ice.

Children at all three locations will receive a limited edition Irvine Police Department fidget toy while supplies last. For more information, visit the event page or call 949-724-7193. A special thank you to our sponsors from Albertsons and Orange County Credit Union.
