The City of Irvine’s web-based platform IrvineREADY! was selected as a Government Experience Project Winner by the Center for Digital Government for 2021.
The awards recognize the achievements and best practices of states, cities, and counties that improve government experience and push the boundaries of how citizen services are delivered. Top government jurisdictions, agencies, and departments were honored during the GovX Summit and Government Experience Awards event September 15.
IrvineREADY! is a web-based platform designed to save time and money by allowing customers to do business online with the City of Irvine at their convenience. Customers can apply and pay online for planning, building, and engineering plan review and permits anytime without traveling to the Irvine Civic Center for service. Additionally, some minor residential and commercial permits that do not require a formal plan review can be issued through the self-service customer portal.
“I continue to be impressed with the City’s efforts to be innovative and build constituent-centric digital experiences,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “IrvineREADY! provides residents with new virtual technology for accessing and receiving government services in a time of uncertainty. I could not be more proud of our City staff and their visionary approaches.”
The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute focused on technology policy and best practices in state and local government. CDG is a division of e.Republic, the nation’s only media and research company focused exclusively on state and local government and education.
