The City of Irvine is launching a grant program for local emerging nonprofits that provide services and programs to the Irvine community. Potential grantees may be awarded $30,000 to $60,000.
Applications for the Irvine Recovery Plan – Emerging Nonprofits Grant Program (IRP Grant Program) will be available beginning Thursday, February 9. Qualified nonprofit agencies interested in applying for funding are encouraged to attend a technical workshop being held via Zoom on Thursday, February 16, at 2 p.m. RSVPs are required for the workshop. “The City of Irvine continues to evaluate the needs of its community and provide relevant funding opportunities for nonprofits that serve our residents and businesses,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “This new round of grants, made possible through American Rescue Plan Act funding, will ensure much-needed resources make their way to the most vulnerable populations in the City.”
Nonprofits proposing community programs and direct financial assistance programs can apply for funds in two categories:
- Emerging Nonprofits serving Vulnerable Populations
- Emerging Nonprofits serving Small Businesses
Only nonprofit organizations serving the Irvine community with an annual operating budget up to $300,000 are eligible to apply. Potential grantees may be awarded $30,000 to $60,000. All applications must be submitted electronically to IRP@cityofirvine.org by noon Thursday, March 16. No late applications will be accepted. Disability and language access are also available upon request.
The Irvine Recovery Plan Grants Review Subcommittee will meet once in March and once in April for grant application review, scoring, and City Council recommendations.
