IRVINE, Calif. (March 26, 2023) – Irvine Police arrest Los Angeles man following the sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl at an Orange County Public Library.
The suspect is identified as 53-year-old Christopher Eduard of Los Angeles. He is described as 5’-9” tall, 125 pounds, and brown hair and eyes. He drives a green, 2019 Kia Soul.
On the evening of March 21, the 9-year-old victim and her mother were at an Orange County Public Library located at 14361 Yale in the City of Irvine. The victim was in the children’s section when Eduard approached her. He engaged the victim by asking her to help him film a video. Eduard gave the victim his cell phone and held cue cards for her to read aloud. During the incident Eduard exposed himself and assaulted the 9-year-old.
Detectives began pouring over surveillance video in the area and located a vehicle that was associated with the suspect. Additional follow-up by detectives led to Eduard’s identification. On March 24, Detectives arrested Eduard near his home in Los Angeles. During the execution of a search warrant, evidence was located linking him to the crime.
