Irvine, Calif. (August 3, 2023) – A man has died after being involved in a motorcycle collision. This is the second fatal motorcycle-related collision to happen in Irvine in less than 24 hours.
Today, at 10:23 a.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) received reports of a motorcycle collision in the area of Alton Parkway and Jamboree Road. IPD units and the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to the scene.
Investigators believe the 21-year-old male was riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Alton Parkway, and as he approached Jamboree, he lost control for an unknown reason. The bike struck a curb and a light pole, throwing the rider off the bike. The motorcycle slid east toward the intersection and collided with a red Toyota Prius stopped in the northbound left turn lane of Jamboree Road at Alton Parkway.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by OCFA. His name is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
