IRVINE, Calif. (August 30, 2023) – A 23-year-old man has died after being involved in a traffic collision while riding his motorcycle.
At 2:31 p.m. yesterday, the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to the area of Bake and Irvine Center Drive for reports of a collision involving a Yamaha motorcycle and a gray GMC Canyon crew cab truck. The motorcycle rider, Andres Osegueda, of Aliso Viejo, was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in this incident.
IPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding this collision.
