IRVINE, Calif. (July 8, 2024) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) arrested 24-year-old Braxton Tysean Hill, of Indiana, for the murder of his roommate.
Today, at about 6:10 a.m., IPD responded to a residence at 2 Tyler Place in Irvine. Officers arrived and located a man with severe injuries. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died. Hill fled the scene in a vehicle prior to officers’ arrival. At approximately 8:49 a.m., Irvine Detectives located Hill in a vehicle in the area of the 15 Freeway at Hodge Road, in Apple Valley. The vehicle was stopped with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol. Hill was arrested for suspicion of homicide and will be booked at Orange County Jail.
The victim is not being identified at this time. Although the motive is still unknown, it appears Hill was a roommate of the victim. The residence where the incident took place is a sober living facility.
