IRVINE, Calif. (February 10, 2025) – A vehicle traffic collision occurred early this morning in the area of Jamboree Road and south of Warner Avenue. One driver has died from his injuries.
This morning, around 1:35 a.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) responded to reports of a traffic collision on Jamboree Road south of Warner Avenue. Our Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) partners also responded to assist.
The initial investigation determined that a black Hyundai Elantra was traveling the wrong way southbound on Jamboree Road in the northbound Jamboree Road traffic lanes. A head-on collision occurred with another vehicle traveling northbound on Jamboree Road, just south of Warner Avenue.
The male driver of the Hyundai Elantra sustained serious injuries from the collision and was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The other driver was not injured as a result of the collision. The identity of the decedent is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
