Irvine, Calif. (August 20, 2025) –The Irvine Police Department (IPD) arrested Michael Robert Maxwell, 42, of Irvine, for sexually assaulting a minor.
On August 15, 2025, IPD partnered with Child Protective Services to investigate a sexual assault that occurred at a residence on Whitecloud.
The teenage female victim was sexually assaulted by him multiple times over ten years. Maxwell was arrested and booked at the Orange County Jail on charges of oral copulation, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, sexual penetration with a foreign object, lewd or lascivious acts with a child, and continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Maxwell was a prominent staff member of Redeemer Church of Orange County in Newport Beach. We are sharing this information and Maxwell’s photo to determine if there are additional victims.
