The Farm + Food Lab is a unique and interactive outdoor classroom for visitors of all ages, filled with themed gardens and interesting plants. Visit the numerous spaces containing plants for delicious food, tea, medicine, sweets, herbs, construction, and other uniquely themed beds.
The Farm + Food Lab is a working and organic horticulture area with a mission to educate visitors about urban gardening, inspire composting and the importance of life in the soil, crop rotation, permaculture, and pest management all in an effort to reduce food insecurities locally. Food harvested is donated to local food pantries; volunteer opportunities are available.
Educational spaces within the garden include an outdoor solar powered teaching kitchen, aquaponics demonstration area, free range chickens, seed exchange library, food forest, vermicomposting systems, Monarch Waystation, pollinator garden, and many more!
Visitors can also enjoy reflecting in the Legacy Courtyard with 9/11 ‘Survivor Tree’ sisters, Rosie the Riveter rose exhibit and Victory Garden, and urban orchard.
