This 106,000-square-foot cultural campus opened in July 2011 at Great Park. Designed from repurposed military structures, this interdisciplinary, public arts program supports exhibitions, performances, and workshops with an eclectic presentation of art enhancement programs.

The shaded outdoor performance plaza enhanced by 54 Canary Islands date palms is surrounded by three civic spaces dedicated to community engagement—the Gallery presents work from nationally and internationally recognized artists with curated themes designed to attract a diverse audience; the Studio supports regional collaborations with academic institutions and arts organizations; and Hangar 244 is dedicated to site-specific exhibitions that share stories from the area’s agricultural roots through Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro.

* Great Park’s Hangar 244 is subject to closures due to private event rentals and/or larger city-wide events. For building closure status, please call 949-724-6599.

Opening in August 2021, exhibitions serve to promote local artists, showcase artwork created by program participants and instructors, and support the creativity of individuals who live, work, and play in Irvine. Displays have also been curated for conference rooms, reception areas, and offices throughout the building.
