The City of Irvine Animal Care Center will host its 10th annual Home for the Holidays Pet Adoption Fair on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at 6443 Oak Canyon Road, Irvine. More than 40 pet rescue groups and animal shelters will bring some 600 homeless dogs, cats, rabbits and small animals for adoption.
City staff estimate that more than 2,000 pets have found homes during this event over the last decade. Not only are many pets available in one place during this special event, visitors can also talk to the shelter and rescue staff about each animal. Understanding a pet’s background helps potential adopters find the right pet for their home.
Each animal available for adoption at this event is spayed or neutered, microchipped and evaluated by a veterinarian. Cats and dogs are vaccinated appropriate to age.
In addition to adoptable pets, as the Fair also features dozens of pet-related vendors, gourmet food trucks, a silent auction, low-cost microchipping on-site and an opportunity drawing.
Suggested donation for the event is $2 per person or $5 per family. Parking is free. For more information, or to view a list of participating rescues, shelters and exhibitors, visit cityofirvine.org/animals or call 949-724-7740.
