The City is working on a study to define community transportation needs and determine additional transit needs (beyond the existing iShuttle and bus routes located within the City). The Irvine Transit Vision Study will evaluate new and improved transportation options to support residents getting around within the city. The study will develop transit service recommendations based on current travel patterns, parking conditions, existing transit services, and other factors. The Study aims to increase access to local businesses, relieve parking and traffic congestion, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The study was heard by the Transportation Commission at its December 20, 2022 meeting and is scheduled for discussion at the Irvine City Council Meeting January 24, 2023.
We previously asked for feedback and input, and are working on improved alternatives. Please check back on this page regularly for updates, and see the links below for additional project information.
