City of Irvine to Honor United States Military Veterans at Special Ceremony

Tuesday, October 31, 2023

The City of Irvine invites the community to honor veterans and their families at a special Veterans Day Ceremony Saturday, November 11, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m., in the Formal Garden at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park.

The ceremony is thoughtfully designed to express a spirit of gratitude to the men and women who have served in the United States military with unwavering dedication, both in the past and the present. Special recognition will be given to local veterans, veterans groups, and military organizations.

“Each year, we gather as a community on Veterans Day to honor and remember the generations of American men and women who selflessly dedicated their lives to seeing the ideas of equality, democracy, justice, and freedom — the ideas that constitute the very fabric of America — defended and upheld, securing a bright beacon of hope for all the world to behold,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “I am honored to remember and reflect alongside the community as we set aside this space to recognize the sacrifice of these brave service men and women.”

This event is free, open to the public, and an opportunity to recognize the valor, courage, and sacrifice of the brave men and women who have served. In the event of inclement weather, the Veterans Day Ceremony will move to the Irvine City Hall, located adjacent to the park.

Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park is located at 4 Civic Center Plaza in Irvine. For more information, visit cityofrivine.org/specialevents or call 949-724-6606.
