This spring, the Great Park Gallery invites the community to an immersive and diverse lineup of cultural and artistic experiences. From captivating jazz performances to thought-provoking exhibitions and hands-on creative workshops, discover a range of events celebrating art, music, and local history –– highlighting the vibrant cultural fabric of Orange County through events that engage, inspire, and connect.
Orange County Archives Bazaar
The Orange County Archives Bazaar returns Sunday, March 16, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., at the Great Park Gallery, Studio, and Hangar 244. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, From Saigon to Little Saigon: Reflections on 50 Years of Home presents an immersive experience highlighting cherished stories, traditions, and memories that define the Vietnamese American journey –– inviting the community to explore the theme of home through the lens of Orange County’s Vietnamese community.
Through a dynamic showcase of exhibitions, presentations, and interactive activities, attendees can engage with collections from libraries, museums, and community organizations that document this rich history.
This free, all-ages event is presented by OC Archives in Action in collaboration with Anaheim Public Library, CSUF Pollak Library, and UCI Libraries.
The event supports the Great Park Gallery’s exhibition, More Than You Can Chew. No registration is required.
Jazz in the Palm Court Live Concert Series
In support of the More than You Can Chew exhibition at the Great Park Gallery, the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex presents a live music series, Jazz in the Palm Court. Inspired by a diverse range of composers and musicians, this event echoes the cultural diversity represented in More Than You Can Chew. Bring folding chairs and blankets for seating around the Gallery and Palm Court; no advance registration is needed for these free events.
Jazz in the Palm Court will take place on the following dates and times:
- Sunday, March 16, 1–3 p.m.
- Saturday, April 19, 1–3 p.m.
More Than You Can Chew Art Activity
Make iconic breakfast foods out of paper using origami folding techniques at the More Than You Can Chew: Art Activity, Origami for Breakfast, Saturday, April 19, 1–3 p.m. at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex. Instructions will be provided. This free activity is suitable for all skill levels and is all-abilities friendly.
The Great Park is located at 8000 Great Park Blvd., Irvine. Great Park Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays, noon–4 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. The opening reception, exhibition, discussion, and parking are free.
