In honor of Earth Month, the City of Irvine and the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) are teaming up with Ware Disposal, WM, and SEMCO to host Drive to Recycle Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. to noon at the Great Park Parking Lot 2.
This high-energy, family-friendly event invites the community to collect and bring recyclable materials for a chance to win cash and prizes for IUSD schools. This fun challenge encourages environmental responsibility and local school initiatives through collaborative community support.
Accepted Recyclables:*
- Mixed Wastepaper (junk mail, newspapers, magazines, cereal boxes, office paper)
- CRV Cans and Bottles (California Redemption Value containers)
- Food and Beverage Cartons (juice, milk, and other drink cartons)
*Please be sure all containers are emptied, and materials are bagged before drop-off.
All collected materials will be weighed and recorded by SEMCO. Ware Disposal and WM will ensure proper collection and recycling. It’s an easy and impactful way to reduce waste, celebrate Earth Month, and support local schools.
Guests will also have the chance to meet environmental superheroes The Green Guy and Resilience, who will be on-site to take photos, sign autographs, and hand out fun, educational materials that inspire sustainable living for kids and families.
