Great Park Artist Studios

Built on inclusivity and fun, Slushcult has cultivated one of the strongest communities in contemporary skateboarding by way of fingerboarding. Slushcult Fingerboard Sessions will bring these experiences to the Artist Studios and Palm Court Arts Complex at Great Park in support of the Gallery exhibition, New Normal: Skateboarding Now.

Due to anticipated tropical storm weather caused by Hurricane Hilary, the City of Irvine is canceling the Splash-in Movie and Recreation Swim at the William J. Woollett Aquatics Center. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution in an effort to keep the community and event staff safe.  

Enjoy a free outdoor concert featuring the Pacific Symphony, led by Music Director Carl St.Clair. Have fun participating in family-friendly activities before the concert. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating on the grass. Bring a picnic basket or purchase treats from one of the gourmet food trucks on-site.

Irvine Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce its annual juried All Media exhibition. Irvine Fine Arts Center is a community venue that presents exhibitions designed to expand awareness, understanding, and sensitivity to art for diverse audiences. Participate in a worldwide effort to raise awareness for drowning prevention. Arrive at 5:30 p.m. to sign up for the one-time lesson to be held at 6 p.m., then stay for the free recreation swim that includes a water slide, giant inflatable, and diving boards. At dusk, Sing 2 plays on the big screen. Lifeguards will be on duty. For recreation swim, children 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult one-on-one in the water. 

Learn about Black culture as well as the history and significance of Juneteenth at our second annual Freedom Celebration at the Great Park Palm Court. This free event will feature interactive activities, local organizations, and live performances. The event is open to the public. Free parking is available on site. Great Park Artist Studios
Since the 1950s the skateboard has evolved both scientifically and aesthetically, meeting the needs of each generation differently. From artwork to production, each era of skateboard gave riders new abilities that helped redefine the sport. In collaboration with the Skateboarding Hall of Fame and Museum, Deck Design: A Survey of Skateboard Evolution showcases how the skateboard has changed.
