These  Farm + Food Lab popular and unique workshops and demonstrations are presented by Solutions for Urban Agriculture and other guest speakers. All ages welcome.

On July 3, make and take your very own vermicompost box home with a set of worms. Basic care and feeding of worms will be covered. Material fee of $15 per family (bring to class).

Workshops are free, but registration is required at yourirvine.org (registration opens May 15).

On June 26, join Jade Luu, a Kiss the Ground Soil Advocate, to discover regenerative practices that heal the soil, revive ecosystems, increase farmer wellbeing, and help balance the climate.

The City of Irvine is partnering with OC Human Relations to host a Virtual Town Hall training event Wednesday, March 31 at 2 p.m. to help community members understand how they can recognize hate crimes and incidents and learn the skills necessary to move from a passive bystander to an “active upstander.”

On July 17, learn how to keep your planted vegetables going strong and producing abundant food by feeding and watering properly. University of California Master Gardeners will review types and proper use of fertilizers as well as irrigation systems and watering tips. 

Learn everything you need to know about sustainable home gardening practices. Workshop will be conducted by the UCCE Master Gardeners of Orange County.

On June 19, learn the difference between bad bugs and beneficial bugs. University of California Master Gardeners will review Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to control those pests with the least toxic methods. Bring photos of your current insect issues.
