On December 12, watch as a variety of seasonally available citrus are used to make delicious marmalade and dehydrated specialties. Event is free, but registration is recommended at yourirvine.org (registration opens August 22). Ages 16+.

On November 14, learn about fermenting basics and their nutritional benefits by turning cabbage into kraut and kimchi. These tools can be used to ferment many other vegetables. Event is free, but registration is recommended at yourirvine.org (registration opens August 22). Ages 16+.

Learn everything you need to know about sustainable home gardening practices. Workshops are conducted by the UCCE Master Gardeners of Orange County. 

On October 24, learn how fall in the garden is just as busy as spring. Planting in October allows plants to take advantage of winter rains to become established for our hot summers. We will also cover best ways to maintain existing plants to ensure year-long survival. Attendees have a chance to win plants, which will also be available for purchase.

On October 10, see examples of citrus plants, and learn about planting, uses, care, and how to control pests such as the Asian citrus psyllid.

On September 26, discover what to plant in the fall so you can have vegetables and flowers all winter long. All attendees will leave with some seedlings for their gardens.
