Employee and Labor Relations is a resource to all City of Irvine employees, supervisors and managers. Our goal is to establish, administer and communicate sound policies and practices, develop competitive compensation programs, while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations. Full-time employees* - Full-time employees are eligible to receive up to $1,300 per calendar year for Professional Development and Educational Reimbursement. 

*IPA bargaining group members, please refer to the IPA MOU for specific guidelines on using your Professional Development Funds.

Every employer in the State of California must provide workers' compensation coverage for employees who are injured on the job. The City of Irvine is self-insured for workers' compensation coverage, which means we pay for the actual cost of work-related injuries and illnesses ourselves as opposed to purchasing an actual insurance policy.

Workers' compensation is no-fault coverage for employees and volunteers that are injured on the job. Benefits are set by the State Legislature, and may include:
