Visiting the Great Park

Great Park offers plenty of activities for families, individuals, children, and outdoor enthusiasts. From athletic fields and walking trails, to playgrounds and a carousel, there is something for everyone at the Great Park.

Use the information below to plan your visit, decide on things to do, and get the best directions based on where in the park you're going.

To ensure that the needs of the community are met, the City of Irvine created the Athletic Park Ambassador program. Park ambassadors assist the public with field reservations questions and concerns, field preparation, light maintenance at parks and facilities, field emergencies and the opening and closing of City facilities. Please note that staff hours are seven days a week 6 a.m.–10 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns about a non-staffed facility, please feel free to contact one of our park ambassadors at the following numbers:

Established on June 24, 2003 by the Irvine City Council, the Orange County Great Park Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The Corporation is governed by a five-member Board of Directors consisting of the five sitting City Council members from the City of Irvine.

"The mission of the Orange County Great Park Corporation is to develop and operate, preserve and protect the Great Park for the benefit and enjoyment of all its visitors, those of today and those in the future.” — Mission Statement

A false alarm is defined as, “any activation or transmission of any alarm signal causing a police response where an emergency situation does not exist.” This definition can be found in the City of Irvine’s Alarm Ordinance 98-15.
