Irvine Public Library System Transition

At its July 23, 2024, meeting, the Irvine City Council approved the transition of library services from the County of Orange to the City of Irvine. The City Council also directed City staff to reopen negotiations with the County to expedite the lease expiration of University Park Library and begin the design process and funding option exploration for a new library building in Irvine.

Great Park, in collaboration with the Irvine Theater Company and in support of Dorothea Lange’s California: 1935–1942, presents a two-part acting series Brain Science: Acting, Writing, History, and Memory!

Acting Workshop • Sunday, October 22, 1–3 p.m.
Bring characters to life by using images from Dorothea Lange’s California: 1935–1942 as inspiration. Participants will learn to create and embody the past experiences of a character through the use of brain-based techniques.

The Irvine Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce its fall exhibitions: Revision and Into the Garden. The exhibitions run concurrently Saturday, November 18 through Saturday, February 3. A free opening reception with the artists is Saturday, November 18, 2–4 p.m., and is open to the public.
