UCI Health and the City of Irvine are partnering for a series of blood drives which will be held at Great Park monthly through September. A blood supply crisis is posing a concerning risk to patient care both locally and nationally. To address the great need for blood donations in Orange County, a blood drive will take place from noon to 6 p.m. in Great Park Parking Lot 2 on Thursday, August 18. Appointments are required for all donors.

In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper shredding event Saturday, August 20, at the Lakeview Senior Center. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes (dimensions: 24 inches x 12 inches) at a mobile shredding unit on-site. The event is first-come, first-served, and will end when truck capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.
