• Stay away from you or your family members
• Not contact or go near you, your children, other relatives, or others who live with you
• Move out of your house

If you are being threatened, stalked, harassed, or sexually or physically abused by someone, you may be able to obtain a restraining order to protect you.

A Gun Violence Restraining order (GVRO) is a court order that:

• Prohibits the restrained party from possessing a gun, ammunition, or magazines
• Prohibits the retrained party from buying a gun, ammunition, or magazines
• Requires the restrained party to surrender any guns, ammunition, and magazines to the police; sell them to or store them with a licensed gun dealer

If you are concerned someone close to you may use a gun to hurt themselves or another person, you can ask for a GVRO.
