The High School Youth Action Team (HSYAT) provides high school students the opportunity to participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services for their peers. The program consists of student representatives from local high schools who organize teen activities and represent their peers at various community groups.
The program’s objectives include:
Street Rehabilitation (Asphalt Paving) consists of cold milling, installation of pavement fabric and an asphalt concrete overlay.
Cold Milling (also referred to as grinding) is the controlled removal of the surface of the existing pavement to a pre-determined depth with specially designed milling equipment.
Slurry Seal is a mixture of emulsified asphalt (oil), water, fine crushed rock and sand. It is a surface applied treatment designed to extend the life of existing streets in two ways. It helps to maintain the integrity of the roadway by filling surface cracks and voids. By replenishing roadway surface oils, it also acts as a water repellent cap, shedding water into the gutters and preventing water damage to the subsurface of the street.

Composting is nature’s process of recycling decomposed organic matter. By composting your food scraps, yard trimmings and other organic waste, you are continuing nature’s cycle and speeding up the process of converting organic waste back into nutritious soil.
