The City of Irvine is developing pedestrian and bicycle safety action plans to encourage safe and active travel to school. The Suggested Routes to School (SRTS) project focuses on how to make walking, bicycling, and rolling easier and safer for students, but the recommendations on neighborhood streets benefit us all!
The City is gathering feedback to better understand the community’s transportation needs in and around all 45 public schools in Irvine. Share your input at a Virtual Public Workshop Wednesday, May 21, at 5 p.m.

The Suggested Routes to School project will result in 45 maps and a set of prioritized projects for each public school in the City. Each Suggested Routes to School assessment will be tailored to individual schools with the locations of any nearby bicycle facilities and traffic control devices, such as traffic signals and stop signs. It will also include specific recommendations for improvements.
