Orange County Power Authority
How to Watch an Upcoming Meeting
Please visit ocpower.org for details on future meetings.
The cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, and Huntington Beach have joined Irvine in executing a Joint Powers Agreement forming the Orange County Power Authority (OCPA). OCPA is a new independent, locally governed, not-for-profit Community Choice Energy Provider for residential and commercial power services in Irvine. Commercial service launches in April, and residential service launches in October.
On February 8, 2022, the Irvine City Council voted to select 100% renewable energy as the default tier for customers. As a result, all Irvine residents and businesses will receive all of their energy from renewable sources unless they choose a lower tier or opt-out and remain with Southern California Edison (SCE). Please click the links below for information from the meeting:
On March 31, the Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) announced it began commercial service delivering Community Choice Energy to more than 38,000 business accounts across the cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, Huntington Beach, and Irvine.
Notices were sent out in early August to inform residential customers that the Orange County Power Authority will be their local energy provider beginning October 2022. Translated materials can be found here. Please visit ocpower.org for more information or view their Frequently Asked Questions here.
Residential or commercial customers should contact OCPA directly to opt-out of service or with any questions about their electric service at 866-262-7693 or ocpower.org/contact-us.
