Pickleball Courts Update
The City of Irvine is currently developing a plan for potential pickleball courts at Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge, and the Great Park. Currently, the City of Irvine has six lit pickleball courts located at Portola Springs Community Park and two at Los Olivos Community Park. In addition, there are nine hybrid tennis and pickleball courts located at Heritage, Knollcrest, Los Olivos, San Carlo, and University Community Parks.
Great Park April 30 Community Outreach Event
Please join the City of Irvine to provide input on potential pickleball courts at the Great Park Tuesday, April 30, 6-8 p.m. at Great Park Hangar 244. As concept plans are being considered, guests will be able to provide input on the design, layout, shade, seating, access, circulation, style, size, and more.
Information gathered will be used to shape recommendations and decisions about future park planning at the Great Park.

The City of Irvine held a community outreach event in June 2023 at Lakeview Senior Center. Participants shared input to help shape recommendations and decisions about future park planning at Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge.
Concept Plan Approval and Next Steps
On January 4, 2023, the Community Services Commission approved a park design modification, setting the stage for the final design and construction phase. It is anticipated that bids to hire a contractor for construction will occur in summer 2024, with an estimated construction completion date of Fall 2025.
