The City of Irvine invites the community to celebrate National Public Works Week by attending the City of Irvine's 2024 celebration Thursday, May 23. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Great Park Hangar 244.
City of Irvine staff from the Public Works & Sustainability Department will be on-site to share information about their career paths and how their work impacts daily operations in Irvine. Team members will detail current projects and noteworthy and upcoming work planned in the City, as well as share advice on pursing a career in public works.
In addition, visitors can experience the sights and sounds of public works by viewing and interacting with equipment used by staff throughout Irvine.
Food and treats will be available for purchase. Visitors can also earn prizes and giveaways.
Advancing Quality of Life for All is this year’s National Public Works Week theme, which occurs May 19–25
No RSVP is required to attend the event. Hangar 244 is located at 8000 Great Park Blvd. Guests should take Great Park Boulevard, turn right to Beacon, turn right to Bosque, and follow on-site signage to park in Parking Lot 2.
