The weather is getting colder and the holidays are near; it’s time for a celebration with those we hold dear. Join Irvine Senior Services for an evening of holiday cheer, including hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, and pictures with Santa. Event fee is $10 per person; register online at yourirvine.org. Kick off the season with the lighting of the Civic Center holiday tree, and join us for an evening of holiday cheer. The event will include visits with Santa Claus, live holiday music, and a winter-themed train route. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift suitable for infants or children up to age 12. Toy donations aid the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee Holiday Toy Drive, which benefits the families of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. For more information, call 949-724-6606.

The City of Irvine Animal Care Center will host its 16th annual Home for the Holidays Pet Adoption Fair Sunday, December 11, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Pet rescue groups and animal shelters will bring hundreds of homeless dogs, cats, rabbits, and small animals for adoption.
