As part of the City of Irvine’s sustainability goals to reach carbon neutrality, the Environmental Programs division hosts an Annual Induction Cooking Workshop and Demonstration.
The event, co-hosted by Mayor Farrah N. Khan, featured local award-winning Chef Katie Chin, who demonstrated how to make various ethnically diverse dishes using all-electric induction cooktops, as well as discuss the benefits of switching from a gas range to all-electric.

The City of Irvine Administrative Services Department will host its annual GIS Day November 16, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Irvine Civic Center in the CTC.
GIS Day provides a forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. Kick off the season with the lighting of the Civic Center holiday tree, and join us for an evening of holiday cheer. The event will include visits with Santa Claus, live holiday music, and a winter-themed train route. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift suitable for infants or children up to age 12.
