What is SB 1383?

SB 1383 is a state law that requires every resident and business to recycle organic waste in an effort to reduce methane emissions. Specifically, SB 1383 establishes a target to reduce organic waste in landfills statewide by 75% by 2025; and requires that programs be established to rescue at least 20% of surplus food currently thrown away. The recovered food will be routed to those experiencing food insecurity. Read this page to learn more or view our quick-click resources below.

Chuck Jones: Season of Creativity

The City of Irvine is thrilled to partner with the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity to spotlight artist Chuck Jones and his iconic career through interactive programming featuring his world-famous cartoon characters.

The City of Irvine Youth Action Team invites the community to take part in the Pickup 50 Challenge, a Citywide littering campaign beginning April 7 to promote and expand cleanup efforts throughout Irvine. Participants are asked to go out into their community, pick up 50 pieces of trash, and then challenge their friends and family to do the same.
