Scholastic chess players are invited to challenge their minds at the Staser Chess Tournament. It features a free K–8 non-rated section and a USCF K–12 rated section for an entry fee. Registration required using the links below by noon on Friday, August 20 (registration opens May 15). Ages 5–18.

On July 3, make and take your very own vermicompost box home with a set of worms. Basic care and feeding of worms will be covered. Material fee of $15 per family (bring to class).

The City of Irvine is partnering with OC Human Relations to host a Virtual Town Hall training event Wednesday, March 31 at 2 p.m. to help community members understand how they can recognize hate crimes and incidents and learn the skills necessary to move from a passive bystander to an “active upstander.”
