At its October 10, 2019 meeting, the Irvine City Council voted to adopt Ordinance 19-17, which expanded the City's current smoking prohibitions to include all public places, such as sidewalks, streets, and alleys as well as common areas of multi-unit residences, including laundry rooms, play areas, and pools. 

The City of Irvine is proud to support the Pets for Vets Act, a state law that requires animal shelters to waive cat and dog adoption fees for military veterans. Beginning January 2020, veterans visiting the Irvine Animal Care Center can add a new pet to their home for free (certain licensing and puppy wellness fees may still apply). In support of our community, the center will also waive rabbit adoption fees for our veterans.

The City of Irvine is developing a Strategic Energy Plan - a sustainable, economically feasible, and actionable road map identifying effective measures the Irvine community can implement to improve efficiency and resiliency.

A. An internship is an on-site work experience either directly related to your major field of study or your career interest. It can be paid or unpaid, and held anytime throughout the year. Working alongside experienced employees, interns acquire relevant skills and contribute their talents to a variety of projects.

Why Intern?

Whether an internship is paid, volunteer, or for school credit, really doesn't change its value. Studies show that roughly 70% of college graduates participate in some sort of internship, gaining relevant skills, experience, and insight into their field.

Orange County voters approved a ½-cent sales tax in 1990, known as Measure M. It was approved for an additional 30 years to 2041, and the renewed program is known as M2 or OC Go. Some funds are non-competitive and distributed to local agencies based on a formula of population, arterial centerline miles and share of taxable sales. Other funds are competitive and offered to local agencies in the following categories:
