The City allocates funds or partners with many area organizations that serve our community. Together, they provide a diverse range of programs and services to our residents of all ages, needs, and interests. We would like our major partners to highlight how they serve our community with annual presentations at City Council meetings, scheduled throughout the year.

More than 40 pet rescue groups and animal shelters will bring more than 600 homeless dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals for adoption. This annual event features vendors, gourmet food trucks and a bake sale, a silent auction, and low-cost microchipping. Each animal is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and evaluated by a veterinarian. Cats and dogs are vaccinated appropriate to age.

Suggested donation for the event is $2 per person or $5 per family; parking is free. Leashed and vaccinated dogs are welcome.

The public is invited to the grand opening of Los Olivos Community Park. The event will take place on Saturday, March 2, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will showcase the new 12.5-acre park, which features lighted baseball and soccer fields, a lighted basketball court, four tennis courts, and a musical-themed playground inspired by the former Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. In addition, the 6,700-square-foot community center will feature a large multipurpose room, warming kitchen, and patio area.

Spend lunch getting to know personnel from the Irvine Police Department. Much like our Coffee with a Cop events, Pizza with a Cop offers residents a chance to interact with IPD in a relaxed atmosphere. Join us February 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MOD Pizza, 3965-A Alton Parkway, Suite A. No RSVP necessary for this free event. Lunch available for purchase.
