The City is embarking on a comprehensive update of its General Plan, which is a “master plan” for development. Residents are encouraged to participate in “Irvine 2035 – Our Future,” the General Plan update that will shape planning over the next 20 years.

A free community workshop will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center.

A second workshop will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Lakeview Senior Center, 20 Lake Road, Irvine.


For the second consecutive year, the Irvine Animal Care Center is participating in Clear the Shelters, a nationwide adoption event hosted locally by NBC4 and Telemundo52. On July 23 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., all adoptions will be just $20.
