In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper-shredding event Saturday, October 28, 9–11 a.m. at Lakeview Senior Center. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served and will end early if truck capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.

The City of Irvine invites the community to the Portola Springs Sentinel Ribbon Cutting ceremony Thursday, September 14, 3:30–4:15 p.m. at Portola Springs Community Park. The event includes a cultural activity that honors the indigenous people of the ‘U∫rónvanga area (now, Portola Springs) with a formal dedication to follow.
