The City of Irvine's Resource Linkage at the Keen Center offers support and assistance to help seniors and their families cope with the physical, emotional and practical challenges of aging. The Keen Center – named after Al and Dorothy Keen, lifelong City residents and dedicated volunteers – is the community's destination for up-to-date senior resources and information. It hosts an exceptional team of bilingual volunteers and staff who can answer questions and provide referrals.

CHAMPION (Community Helpers Assisting Mature Persons in Our Neighborhood)
Become a CHAMPION. This unique volunteer opportunity helps meet the needs of isolated older adults by matching them with the interests of a friendly visiting volunteer.
Help ensure older adults are getting a balanced meal and social interaction by volunteering in the daily Nutrition program located at Lakeview Senior Center.
Dishwasher
Help City staff and Nutrition volunteers with providing meals to older adults by cleaning prep areas, equipment, and dishes using the commercial dish-washing machine.
Irvine Senior Services at times provides opportunities for high school aged teens (age 14+) to volunteer. To help encourage responsibility, requests to volunteer must be made by the prospective teen volunteer, not the parent. In addition, all required paperwork must be completed by the volunteer. To ensure we are meeting the needs of our senior community, we ask that all volunteers commit to volunteering a minimum of three hours per week for at least three months. The majority of our volunteer opportunities are Monday through Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
