2026 General Municipal Election 

General Municipal Elections are held in the City of Irvine on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November of even-numbered years. Other municipal elections or special elections may be called from time to time by the City Council. The next General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to elect a Mayor and Councilmembers for Council Districts 1, 5, and 6. These positions are currently elected by Irvine citizens and are non-partisan.

The following items are required to be completed prior to project acceptance for processing:

Plan check fees and deposits are required to be paid in full upon submittal (see Fee Schedule).

Save time at the counter by asking for your plan check fees to be calculated in advance. Simply fax the filled-out Application, Quantity Take-Off Sheet, Data Sheet(s), Recycling and Diversion of Construction and Demolition Waste and  OCFA Screening Form to 949-724-6420. Please allow at least 24 hours for a response.

Please bring your plan check number so we can locate your project.

Contractors must bring:

1.     Valid Contractors License Pocket Card (or copy) which must reflect a license type for the work being done.

2.     A current copy of the Workers’ Compensation Certificate showing the policy number, expiration date, and the California State Contractors Board or the City of Irvine as the certificate holder.

3.     A copy of their City of Irvine Business License or the license number.
