The Ad Hoc Veterans Affordable Housing Committee meets as needed to develop draft policy recommendations to address and support the housing needs of veterans in the City of Irvine and make appropriate recommendations to the City Council.
The Administration division directs the day-to-day operations of the department by establishing and implementing priorities, policies and procedures. It oversees purchasing functions for the City and provides long-range planning for the department's three other divisions: Business Planning and Budget, Fiscal Services, and Information Technology. In addition, the division supports the Finance Commission and the Investment Advisory Committee.
The City of Irvine, in partnership with the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee, is collecting personal items for welcome home packages for the City’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion returning home from deployment.
The collection drive runs through Friday, May 29.
Suggested donation items include:
• Towels/washcloths
• Men’s body wash/shower gel (Axe or Dove are preferred brands)
• Individually wrapped snacks (Granola bars, beef jerky or protein bars)
• Single-serve drink powder mix packets (Gatorade, Propel or Hawaiian Punch)
The Irvine Fine Arts Center will present the annual High School Art Exhibition and countywide Imagination Celebration.
The High School Art Exhibition is a multimedia show featuring art produced by students from Irvine high schools, including drawing, painting, photography and ceramics.
The Public Works Landscape Maintenance Division maintains over 1,700 acres of parks, greenbelts, and street landscapes including 23 community parks, 39 neighborhood parks, and seven specialty facilities which include Central Bark Park, trailheads, and the Irvine Transportation Center. The division also maintains over 60,000 trees.

Compressed Natural Gas-Street Sweeper Purchase
The City of Irvine, with financial support from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee, recently purchased a street sweeper powered by compressed natural gas demonstrating the City of Irvine’s continued commitment to clean transportation as well as compliance with the South Coast Air Quality Management District requirements for the use of alternative fuel heavy-duty vehicles
The City of Irvine’s Fleet Services Division is vital to supporting public safety, daily operations, and community services by maintaining a fleet that is safe, dependable, and environmentally sustainable. The division offers a full range of services: including preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, fueling, and fabrication of City-owned vehicles and heavy equipment.
As part of the City of Irvine’s broader effort to maintain a clean and welcoming environment, the City enforces a Zero Tolerance Policy for graffiti. The Graffiti Abatement Program is a collaborative initiative managed by the Public Works & Sustainability and Public Safety departments.
How It Works
When graffiti is reported, the incident is logged and evaluated for urgency and severity. Based on this assessment, a response team—either City staff, a contractor, or an external agency—is dispatched to remove the graffiti.
The City of Irvine is proud to maintain a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance team composed of 31 dedicated professionals. This team oversees the maintenance and care of 116 City-owned locations, including community and neighborhood parks, pump and irrigation stations, lighting infrastructure, pedestrian tunnels, and specialized facilities such as the Irvine Civic Center, Senior Centers, Aquatic Facilities, Libraries, and Animal Care Center.
