The City of Irvine's Parks Maintenance Program maintains over 452 acres of Community parks, Neighborhood Parks, and Special facilities.  A significant part of the parks program is our Sports Turf Agronomic Management Program. The sports turf agronomic program is a comprehensive, science-based plan designed to maintain and improve the health, safety, and playability of athletic fields. It focuses on managing the soil, turfgrass, and surrounding environment to support high-performance playing surfaces that can withstand frequent use. You can find an overview of our program here:

The Landscape Maintenance Division assigns 5 staff members to manage the landscaping and irrigation within parkways, medians, and trails throughout the City.  Landscape maintenance contractors are utilized to provide the necessary services to maintain aesthetically pleasing landscapes which includes over 200 acres of turf, 550 acres of planter areas, 85 acres of trails, and 100 acres of right-of way.

The City of Irvine, in collaboration with Community Action Partnership of Orange County, is offering The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Eligible residents will receive a box of food weighing approximately 30 pounds. The box contains a variety of dried beans, fresh produce, canned and frozen vegetables, fruit/vegetable juice, meat (when available), poultry, fish, nuts, milk, cheese, rice, cereal, and pasta.

The City of Irvine, in partnership with local businesses and organizations, is holding an emergency food drive Saturday, November 15, to support Irvine residents affected by the ongoing federal government shutdown. 

Together with the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce, OC Hunger Alliance, and South County Outreach, the City is calling on the community to come together in support of neighbors facing food insecurity.

About I-REP

The Irvine Rider Education Program (I-REP) allows participants to receive real-world safety instruction from trained Irvine Police Traffic Bureau Instructors. The course is offered for riders of bicycles, e-bikes, e-devices, and motorcycles. The class combines a lecture portion with an emphasis on the rules of the road and a practical riding obstacle course.

The bicycle, e-bike, and e-device class is open to e-bike riders aged 12 to 17, with priority given to middle school students. All students must have a parent or guardian in attendance.
