Irvine Public Library System Transition

At its July 23, 2024, meeting, the Irvine City Council approved the transition of library services from the County of Orange to the City of Irvine. The City Council also directed City staff to reopen negotiations with the County to expedite the lease expiration of University Park Library and begin the design process and funding option exploration for a new library building in Irvine.

The agreement was presented at the County Board of Supervisors August 13 and was unanimously approved.

Be a part of a one-of-a-kind community event transforming 1.4 miles of Campus Drive into a completely car-free zone!

Whether you're volunteering on your own or as part of a group, CicloIrvine offers a range of opportunities to get involved and make a difference in the community. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and shifts will occur between 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Volunteers needed to support in the following areas:

Irvine, Calif. (March 4, 2025) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License checkpoint as part of the Department’s continued commitment

Join the City of Irvine, Irvine Ranch Conservancy, and Irvine Company for an open space celebration on Saturday, April 19, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Quail Hill Trailhead. Guests will be treated to a free pancake breakfast, family-fun activities, and a hike of the 1.8-mile Quail Hill Loop Trail. The guided hike will begin at 10:30 a.m. and is family-friendly, but please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
