Irvine Public Library Cards

Irvine Public Library cards are free and available to California residents. To receive an Irvine Public Library card, you will need:

  • A photo ID
  • Proof of California residence (a Driver's License or state issued ID is acceptable) 

Please note:

  • A parent or guardian must be present to register their child for a library card.
  • The library card applicant must be present to receive their library card.

Sign up for a library card at any of our events in July, or drop by our library card sign-up table in front of University Park and Heritage Park Library branches on the following dates::

  • Tuesday, July 15, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday, July 22, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. 

  • Tuesday, July 29, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. 

Once you have your library card, you will be able to check out out items from a selection of materials at the library card sign-up table, and you can access our digital library resources. The full capabilities of your library card will be accessible when the Irvine Public Library locations open in August. Watch this page for more information!
