Irvine Senior Services offers a Technology Membership. Computer workstations are available in the Computer Lab at Lakeview Senior Center and a laptop lending program is available at Rancho Senior Center and Trabuco Center. How can I use the Senior Fitness Centers?
The Rancho and Trabuco Fitness Centers are committed to providing seniors with a safe and comfortable workout environment. both centers are designed for adults age 50 and older, and feature a selection of cardiovascular and strength training equipment. How can I become an instructor?
Whether it’s a volunteer or a paid instructor that you are interested in becoming, we want to hear from you! Please complete the Program Proposal, providing as much detail as possible. Completed proposals can be emailed to SeniorServices@cityofirvine.org.
Do you have to be an Irvine resident to come to the senior center?
No. Some programs may require an additional nonresident fee.
How do I register for Irvine Valley College (IVC) classes offered at the senior centers?
Register for IVC classes at mysite.socccd.edu. Login using you Student ID and PIN. For more information, contact the Extended Education Office at 949-367-8343 or visit academics.ivc.edu/emeritus.
Does the senior center serve lunch/meals?
The Rose Garden Cafe, located at Lakeview Senior Center, serves lunch Monday–Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reservations are required and must be made by 10 a.m. two business day in advance. Reservations can be made in person at Lakeview Senior Center or by calling 949-724-6916. There is a suggested contribution of $4 for adults age 60 and older; $6.25 fee for adults age 59 and younger. Do I have to be a member to participate at the senior center?
No. A membership is not required to participate in Irvine Senior Services programs.
How do I register for Irvine Meals on Wheels?
Nutritious meals delivered to qualifying homebound Irvine senior residents each week. Available on a donation basis; no qualifying senior is turned away due to inability to donate.
To qualify for Meals on Wheels, you or your loved one must:
- Be an Irvine resident 60+ years old.
- Be homebound because of disability, illness, or lack of mobility. This means you may have a hard time with shopping or preparing food and don't have a friend or family member around to always help.

Do you offer scholarships to help pay for programs?
The City of Irvine offers a scholarship program to help low-income Irvine residents participate in programs offered through the Community Services Department. The program has limited funds available. Scholarships are granted on a first-come basis after applications are reviewed and approved. The program may be closed to new applications when funds run low. The City of Irvine TRIPS program provides a low‐cost, door‐to‐door, wheelchair accessible transportation service to qualified Irvine residents age 18 and older who are unable to drive due to a permanent physical or cognitive disability.
